233 - spaceships in the sanctuary

Young boys have the unique ability, when they are bored and are void of all toys, to use their imaginations and make or see spaceships out of the mundane objects at hand - a pen and binder clip for example.

Every time I look down to the front of our church sanctuary, I see this spaceship swooping in ready for attack.

As these boys grow older, I guess they never really loose this ability.

My church pastime was always making elaborate mazes on paper, the kinds with many false routes and dead ends that were only discovered after following along for several minutes. (and I wonder how my eyesight went bad...)

So that's what you were drawing. That part of the sanctuary always stuck out to me as well, but I hadn't seen the spaceship yet.

A true geek would have stated what spaceship it looked like: Red Dwarf, Star Trek, or Star Wars?

Spaceships huh? I wonder if I should start looking at cmans notes?! Since he tends to draw mazes he probably isn't in to the spaceship phase yet. Although he is into the spider bionicles right now, so he's getting there! :)

Ah,yes. Mazes are good fun too. That is something we'd do with a pencil, offering envelope and a long sermon.

So are there any geeks willing to step forward and identify what this spaceship most closely resembles?

If there was a more pronounced tail...it would be a dead give-a-way for a Battlestar Galactica fighter.

To me it looks like a Klingon Bird of Prey. You'll have to verify that with a geek, though. ;)

The guys in the sound booth saw this immediately when the new renovations were done. They refered to it as the Klingon Bird of Prey too. I hadn't noticed, but once they pointed it out...hard to miss.

Cool ship forrest! My bro always did the maze thing, and he was insanely (spelling?) detailed. I always did cartoons of people. I have started taking my sketch book to church. One day I will scan a few pages on my blog. I told you about the foundry I am building, well I posted images of the blower last night. Take a gander! D
